ABOUT ME

I have worked in the field of mental health and well-being for many years, in charitable counselling services and in statutory homeless, addiction and resettlement services. I get great joy from working with people from all backgrounds, getting to know their stories and strengths. I love nature and find being in it helps me shift stuck thoughts and feelings. I spend a lot of my spare time walking, running and stomping through fields, woods, hills and beaches.

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counselling from Middlesex University, an MSc in Psychology and a BSc in Biochemistry. I love stories and creativity generally, and all of this influences me as a therapist. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I adhere closely to their Codes of Ethics.

Transactional Analysis is an accessible and inclusive framework to help my clients better understand themselves and others. I also draw on neuroscience and mindfulness principles among other approaches and philosophies to be flexible and adaptive. As part of this personalised approach, I will be empathically attuned to clients in the therapy space, paying close attention to what happens between us. For those who are keen, I like to use creative tools and techniques.
